Master key systems

Increase control and convience

A master key system is a key plan whereby selected keys are able to open a number of pre-defined doors. Not only does it help maintain better control, it saves key replacement costs and is convenient. There are a lower number of keys in circulation. It provides quick access to all rooms within that premise. For example staff members, secruity and management personnel can all have access to rooms, this can saves lives in emergencies.

As illustrated above, the ‘Master Key’ would open all doors and lock types in the property and is usually held by caretakers or high personel. The Sub-master A opens the main entrance and all the locks on the ground flood, its usually held by a manger who occupies that floor. This applies to Sub-master B. In addition, employees will have one key that will open the main entrance, office door and their filing cabinets. All keys will work with different type of locks like:

  • Door locks
  • cabinet locks
  • padlocks

As long as the cylidners inside them are of the same model.

A master key plan is the essence of modern mechanical access control, its recommended for all types of building, from residential houses to apartment blocks through to medium-szied or large organisations. Which all have hundred keys or more. This is where this application is important to eliminate the amount of keys to carry i.e. convenience, safety reasons such as when emeregncy assistence is needed quick, 24/7 access to all room is needed without having to spend time searching for the right key. A good example is where this suited system is best applied is in nursing homes, and student accommodation where access is required at all times.
